Footprints
We’ve been following and fallen for the Norwegian artist and designer Rebeca Herlung Høien, the brainchild behind the Norwegian fashion brand Rebeca Rebeca. With a strong eye for mother earth, the harsh beauty of her voice balances between the conscious sense for sustainability and rage. Human actions, political subjects, environmental topics that she refuses to let be, an ever-turning topic that infuses her soul with passion, and pain. Humanity is questioned; her perception of how human actions are affecting the global environmental challenges, and how we move(!) around public topics.
Amazed by her voice and cut in the latest collection WOODLAND RED, the statements shown at the latest Tokyo Fashion Week channels what Rebeca knows best; where nature meets arts and the sustainable and political stance whispers loud. The layering is so delicate yet the fabrics, patterns, cuts and elements combined channels a story that makes your imagination wander back like a time lapse.
Handmade pieces of natures own creations and works from old carpets, this collection triggers authenticity, courage and a new - yet a close to heart - era:
The footprints of this designer is here for reflection, head over for more here.
Oh, and don’t forget to check out this piece, a collab between Rebeca Rebeca and Mama Jules, by the Norwegian artist and designer Julie Delia Lie. The way the sensual dark green velvet silhouette meets the raw wooden elements, makes the two voices fusion to a seductive strong statement.
